Our mission at Ready SET Fitness is to pour our love and enthusiasm for physical activity into your child so much that they develop their own intrinsic motivation to get active each day!

Benefits of Youth Exercise

According to the American Heart Association, Active kids are more likely to have:

  • a healthy weight

  • stronger, healthier bones and muscles

  • better heart and brain health

  • improved brain function, including memory, attention and problem-solving

  • better school attendance and academic performance, especially in math, reading and writing

  • lower long-term risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and some kinds of cancer

  • less stress and fewer symptoms of anxiety and depression

  • less inappropriate and distracting classroom behavior

  • improved mental health and psychological well-being, including confidence and self-esteem

In our group classes, your child will be working towards achieving the daily physical activity recommendations of both the CDC and American Heart Association. According to the CDC, it is recommended that “Children and adolescents ages (6-17 years) should do 60 minutes or more of moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity each day, including daily aerobic – and activities that strengthen bones (like running or jumping) – 3 days each week, and that build muscles (like climbing or doing push-ups) – 3 days each week.”

Our Roots

I’ve been an athlete all my life, since the age of 4 when I started in gymnastics. I went on to progress at the competitive level for the next 10 years. I transitioned into competitive cheerleading up until college. I eventually joined a gym and quickly found this was where I belonged, even becoming a Florida State Bodybuilding Champion in 2019. Over the years my passion grew and I wanted to learn more and more about physical fitness, nutrition, and living a healthy and active lifestyle. As I pursued my own fitness goals, my focus soon shifted to helping others achieve their fitness goals. I graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida in 2009. I hold an NCCA-accredited fitness Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine with specializations in youth exercise (YES Certified), nutrition (FNS Certified), and group training. Once I combined my passion for the gym and my love for teaching children, there was no stopping it– and in 2018, Ready SET Fitness was born. Fun fact, my initials are SET so coming up with a name took me less than two minutes! I’m beyond excited and forever blessed to share my passion with young athletes. Teaching is and always will be the joy of my life.
